Grounds Maintenance Operative

Stewart Bullard & Son Ltd are a family run business that has been established for 35 years, serving Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas. We specialise in maintaining educational sites as well as working with local councils and businesses.

As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for maintaining sites in Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas to a high standard. Working within a team, you will be required to carry out mowing, strimming and hedge cutting as well as other tasks, ensuring that all sites are left in an excellent condition at the end of each visit.

  • Mowing - Using ride on machines to cut large areas of grass including football and rugby pitches.
  • Strimming - Use professional machines to maintain grass areas and edges.
  • Maintenance - Ensure that all machinery is in good working order at the beginning of each working day.

 

We are looking for:

  • A good working attitude with the ability to work independently or within a team.
  • A keen eye for detail - ensuring that sites are left in a pristine condition on completion of works.
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • A good understanding of the importance of safeguarding within our working environment.

Candidates should have relevant experience and a full, clean driving licence. Due to the nature of the work, this job requires a full, enhanced DBS to be carried out.

Working days are Monday - Friday. Employees are expected to work 50 hours per week April - October and 40 hours per week November - March. Pay is dependent on experience.
